After a well-earned Christmas break, our City Women are back in action this Saturday evening at the ctrl:cyber Pitch.
Hosting Wellington Phoenix, Michael Matricciani’s side will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season in our final home game of 2024.
Last weekend saw us on the road in Adelaide, where we secured a third consecutive win with a strong performance against the Reds.
Mariana Speckmaier set the tone early, finding the back of the net in under 30 seconds. Unfortunately, our lead was short-lived as an own goal found its way past Melissa Barbieri.
Tyla-Jay Vlajnic restored our advantage just before halftime with a spectacular strike from outside the box. Holly McNamara then added her name to the scoresheet late in the match, marking another milestone in her return from injury.
Now back on home turf at the City Football Academy for one last game this year, Matricciani has finalised his extended squad for Saturday.
Young talents Shelby McMahon and Emilia Murray have been promoted to the squad, while there are no confirmed outs from the group that travelled to Adelaide.
