Melbourne City today announces a new partnership with CubeGoal, who will become the club’s Chinese Media Partner for 2016/17.

The deal will give Melbourne City access to CubeGoal’s users and media channels, where they will broadcast exclusive interviews and other behind-the-scenes video content.

CubeGoal is a football app, produced by Cubee Technology. CubeGoal is the world’s largest pre-match information platform, providing statistics and analysis from their big data scientists in Shanghai and their global team of football reporters.

The success of the app and their expanding userbase caught the attention of Chinese investors. Earlier this year, Cubee received a multi-million dollar investment from China Media Capital (CMC), the Chinese venture capital firm who also own a 13% stake in Manchester City and Melbourne City football clubs.
Cubee’s CEO, Chen Hao, stated that “We are very pleased to be starting work with our ‘sister company’ in Australia, Melbourne City.

“As well as the connection with our shared owners, we were drawn to Melbourne City as they have done so much to boost the image of the A-League. This can be best seen by their signing of Tim Cahill. Tim is an icon in Australia but is also immediately recognizable in China after his years with Shanghai Shenhua and Hangzhou Greentown.
“The A-League is becoming a more attractive and competitive product each year, and I expect it to grow in popularity amongst Chinese football fans too. I hope our partnership with City will help to make this possible.”
