Melbourne City’s 2020/21 Westfield W-League season launch week has concluded with a number of exciting signings committing to City for the 2020/21 season.
The week also saw the release of the 2020/21 fixtures as City begin their title defence with a Grand Final rematch against Sydney FC to kick-off the season and a return to football in Melbourne with our first home match against Western Sydney on Saturday 2 January.
‘Dub week’ began with the massive signing of Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah who joins from Norwegian top flight club Arna-Bjornar where she was the number one keeper before returning home to Australia in October.
2016/17 Championship winner Teigen Allen returns to City and fellow defender Samantha Johnson will return to professional football after the American stepped away from the game last year.
Former Brisbane Roar duo Hollie Palmer and Leah Davidson have both made the move to Melbourne and will bolster the Club’s midfield this coming season while Melbourne native Julia Sardo and Young Matilda Tori Tumeth also joined City.
The week also saw the return of Chelsea Blissett and Rhali Dobson, joining already contracted Sofia Sakalis to round out the blockbuster week.
