Andrew Nabbout has sadly been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024/25 A-League Men’s season.
Nabbout left the pitch in the second half of Monday night’s win over Western United just minutes after scoring what proved to be the winner. Scans on Wednesday afternoon revealed a ruptured ACL and torn meniscus in the City attacker’s right knee.
He will now meet with orthopaedic surgeons in the coming days ahead of undergoing surgery likely next week.
It was a tough night on the injury front for City, with Marco Tilio having left the pitch earlier in the fixture with a hamstring injury.
Also receiving scans on Wednesday, it’s now been confirmed that Tilio will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a partial tear of his left hamstring tendon.
The Club will be supporting Andy and Marco in every way possible throughout their rehabilitation periods.
In more positive news, a trio of young guns are expected to be pushing for selection when City return to action following the international break.
Ario Sulemani (calf) and Peter Antoniou (ankle) are both likely to re-join the team on the training pitch in the coming days.
Max Caputo also continues progressing well in rehab from a nasty leg injury, having resumed running and is expected to integrate back into team training during the international break.
