TEAM NEWS: Matricciani confirms Unite Round squad

It took six matches, but City finally dropped our first points under new Women’s Head Coach Michael Matricciani last time out.

Our unbeaten start remains following the 2-2 draw against Central Coast Mariners, which saw both Alexia Apostolakis and Lourdes Bosch on the scoresheet in the first half.

Focus now shifts to Unite Round as the A-Leagues descends on Sydney for a blockbuster weekend of football.

A huge clash is ahead for us as we meet Sydney FC for the first time since last season’s Grand Final, which ended in a narrow defeat.

After starting our Ninja A-League season with a pair of home fixtures either side of an away Derby, this weekend will also mark the first time we leave Melbourne.

As preparations continue to heat up, Matricciani has now confirmed his extended squad of 18 for this weekend’s trip across the border.

Shelby McMahon has been added to the squad after being ruled out late last week, the young midfielder continuing to press her case for her first minutes of the season.

Emilia Murray joins her in the extended squad and will be eyeing her second City appearance on home soil.
