Both Melbourne City squads hit the road this weekend with a pair of away fixtures on the horizon.
The action begins with Friday night football in Adelaide as our Men’s squad returns to the pitch following last weekend’s bye. The following night, our City Women will look to set a new Club unbeaten streak when they take on Newcastle.
Aurelio Vidmar’s squad will be eager to claim all three points after back-to-back defeats before the bye, but second-placed Adelaide United will present a tough challenge.
Meanwhile, Michael Matricciani’s team faces a quick turnaround, taking the field just three days after a dominant 5-1 victory over Western United—driven by a first-half hat-trick from Holly McNamara.
Both head coaches have now confirmed their extended squads, with a key inclusion for the Men’s team.
After suffering a serious leg injury in pre-season, Max Caputo has been named in the squad and is in line to make his first appearance of the season.

James Nieuwenhuizen has been promoted following Jamie Young’s retirement, while young midfielder Emin Durakovic has also been added to the extended squad.
For the Women, there are no confirmed outs following their midweek win, with Emilia Murray and Kiera Meyers added to the squad.
