Melbourne City FC is thrilled to confirm that Matildas forward Holly McNamara has re-signed with the Club ahead of her fifth season in City blue.
The 22-year-old made an inspirational return from a third ACL injury during the 2024/25 season, netting an incredible 15 goals in just 17 appearances to claim the A-League Women’s Golden Boot.
McNamara’s electric form was instrumental in City securing a second consecutive Premiers Plate and also saw her find the net during the team’s run to the AFC Women’s Champions League Final.

Despite still being shy of 50 senior Club appearances, her tally of 27 goals places her within reach of becoming Melbourne City Women’s all-time leading scorer – sitting just four goals away from the current record.
A rising star on the international stage, she has already earned 11 caps and scored once for the Matildas, and is expected to be a key figure in Joe Montemurro’s squad heading into the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted that Holly has committed to another season with the Club.
“She’s one of the most exciting talents in the country, but what has really stood out over the past year is her growth as a leader within the squad.
“She sets high standards, drives our culture, and has a real winning mentality – qualities that have been crucial to our success in recent seasons.”
Holly McNamara said:
“My time at Melbourne City has been incredibly special, and I’m so happy to be re-signing for a fifth season.
“The support I’ve had from the Club – through the highs and the challenges – has meant the world to me.
“I still believe my best football is ahead of me, and I’m excited to go after more silverware with this amazing group.”
