Melbourne City’s 2025 Australia Cup campaign now has a confirmed kick-off date, with Football Australia today finalising the full Round of 32 match schedule.
City will travel to Sydney to take on APIA Leichhardt FC on Wednesday 30 July, with kick-off at Leichhardt Oval set for 7:30pm (AEST).
It will mark City’s first competitive fixture since being crowned A-League Men’s Champions in May and will also be the Club’s first ever meeting with APIA — one of the most historic names in Australian football.
Currently fourth in the NPL NSW Men’s competition, APIA are no strangers to ‘cupsets’, famously knocking out both Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers in past years.
Aurelio Vidmar’s squad will return for pre-season in mid-July with a little over two weeks of time to prepare to take on APIA.
Aiming to bounce back from a disappointing Round of 32 Cup exit in 2024, City will look to begin the new campaign with a strong performance in Sydney.
