Melbourne City is proud to launch City in the Community Week, a dedicated celebration of the powerful work our community arm continues to deliver across Melbourne.
This week we will shine a spotlight on some of our programs, people and partnerships driving positive change in the lives of young people, especially those facing barriers to participation in sport, education, employment and community. From classrooms to correctional centres, from local pitches to Parliament House, City in the Community is using the power of football to inspire, include and empower.
Each day during the week we will highlight one of our programs across our social media channels. These programs include City Futures, Twinning Project, Young Leaders, Powerchair Football and Healthy Goals.

Speaking on the impact of City in the Community’s work in the local community, Melbourne City FC CEO Brad Rowse, said: “At Melbourne City FC, we’re deeply committed to using football as a vehicle for positive change.”
“Our community programs, delivered by our passionate City in the Community team, are evidence-based, youth-driven and delivered with purpose. Whether it’s in a classroom, a local club or a correctional facility, we’re focused on creating real impact and helping young people build healthier, safer and more connected lives across Victoria.”
To launch the week, we’ve officially released our 2024/25 City in the Community Impact Report.
