SQUAD NUMBERS: Women’s kit numbers locked in for 2025/26

With just weeks until Melbourne City kicks off our 2025/26 Ninja A-League campaign, the squad numbers are officially locked in – and there’s plenty for fans to get excited about.

After back-to-back Premiers Plate triumphs and a memorable run to last season’s AFC Women’s Champions League Final, City will be looking to go one better this time around under Head Coach Michael Matricciani.

All returning players will continue with their familiar numbers, with a host of fan favourites – including Holly McNamara (number 9), Rebekah Stott (13), Laura Hughes (14) and Taylor Otto (5) – ready to lead the way once again.

There is no shortage of new faces in City blue this season, headlined by experienced English defender Dan Turner, who will wear number 3, while fellow defender Ellie Wilson takes number 2.

Further up the pitch, Football Ferns attacker Deven Jackson has chosen 11, with dynamic Nigerian forward Chinaza Uchendu set to sport 15, and Australian U23 winger Aideen Keane wearing 21.

A new wave of young talent also steps into the spotlight in season 2025/26, led by Danella Butrus (7) and Izabella Rako (10) – both locking in their first-ever A-League Women’s squad numbers.

Fans can order the 2025/26 City kits from Tuesday 7 October, to show their colours and back their favourite players all season long.

City will kick off its campaign with a 2:15pm clash against Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 1 November, before turning attention to the AFC Women’s Champions League Group Stage in Vietnam next month.
