Melbourne City’s historic AFC Champions League Elite Round of 16 home leg is locked in, with tickets going on sale from 3:00pm AEDT on Wednesday 25 February.
City will host Thai heavyweights Buriram United on Tuesday 3 March, with kick-off confirmed for 6:45pm AEDT at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
It promises to be a huge continental occasion in Melbourne, with Aurelio Vidmar’s side preparing for its first-ever knockout fixture in Asia’s premier club competition.
The Round of 16 fixture represents another milestone moment in Asia for City, and it’s a moment City fans won’t want to miss out on.
Having qualified for the knockout stages for the first time in Club history, City now has the opportunity to take another step forward on the continental stage. The winner of the two-legged tie will advance to the final stages of the tournament, to be played in a centralised hub in Saudi Arabia in mid-to-late April.
With a place in the last eight on the line and momentum building after a strong League Stage campaign, the stage is set for a special night under the lights in Melbourne.
