TEAM NEWS: Squad locked in for midweek clash against Adelaide

Melbourne City returns to action on Wednesday night with preparations already well underway for another crucial Ninja A-League clash, and Head Coach Michael Matricciani has now confirmed his extended squad.

Riding high after an important 3-1 win over Canberra United on Sunday, City will be looking to carry that momentum into what shapes as another top-of-the-table encounter against fellow Premiers Plate contenders Adelaide United.

A clinical final 30 minutes proved the difference at the weekend, with Aideen Keane opening the scoring before Chinaza Uchendu made a decisive impact off the bench, scoring twice in quick succession to seal all three points.

With just three games remaining in the regular season, the race for the Premiers Plate is heating up, and Wednesday’s clash looms as another pivotal moment in City’s campaign.

Matricciani has opted for a largely settled squad following Sunday’s win, with no confirmed omissions from the group that got the job done at ctrl:cyber Pitch.

There are a couple of additions to the extended squad, with young talents Izabella Rako and Keira Sarris both promoted.

City will be without Caitlin Karic, who is set for a short stint on the sidelines due to a minor hamstring injury.
