Melbourne City stars Holly McNamara and Leticia McKenna have been named in the Matildas squad for the upcoming FIFA Series 2026™ in Kenya, with McKenna earning her first-ever senior international call-up.
The selection marks a significant milestone for McKenna, whose inclusion is a testament to her outstanding form in City colours throughout the Ninja A-League season.
A key figure in City’s midfield, McKenna has impressed with her technical quality and versatility, seamlessly operating in both attacking and defensive roles as part of a side that secured its third consecutive Premiers Plate last Sunday.

She will be joined in the national team setup by fellow City star McNamara, who has once again been a standout performer this season. The dynamic attacker will be looking to cap off her campaign by securing the Ninja A-League Golden Boot when City face the Newcastle Jets in their final regular season fixture this Sunday 5 April.
The Matildas’ April FIFA International Window will see Joe Montemurro’s side travel to Kenya, where they will compete against 153-ranked side, Malawi, for the first time in a senior FIFA International Match. Then, depending on the result of the first match, the side could take on the hosts, 134-ranked Kenya, or fellow AFC counterparts India in the final match.

The FIFA Series provides a valuable opportunity for the Matildas to continue building following their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ runners-up finish.
McNamara and McKenna will depart for international duty following City’s clash with the Jets on Sunday, linking up with the national team during the April window ahead of the commencement of the Ninja A-League Finals Series.
