A graduate of FC Nordsjælland’s renowned Academy, Marcondes progressed through to the Club’s first team and went on to make 131 senior appearances, scoring an impressive 42 goals before earning a move to England in 2018.
Across close to a decade in English football, the 31-year-old made more than 150 Championship appearances through spells with Brentford, Bournemouth and Norwich City.
It was at Brentford where Marcondes enjoyed one of the defining moments of his career, scoring in the 2021 Championship Play-Off Final as the Club secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 74 years.
At his best operating between the lines, Marcondes has built a reputation for his vision, creativity and technical quality. Renowned for unlocking defences with intelligent movement and incisive passing, he adds another dimension to Aurelio Vidmar’s squad in the final third.
Having recently arrived in Melbourne, Marcondes has already joined the team in training in preparation for the upcoming season.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said Marcondes’ experience and creativity would add another exciting dimension to City’s attack.
“We’re delighted to welcome Emiliano to Melbourne City,” Petrillo said.
“He’s a player we’ve admired for some time and brings a level of experience that speaks for itself after so many years competing in Denmark and England.
“His creativity, technical quality and football intelligence make him an excellent fit for the way we want to play, and we believe he’ll have a significant influence on our attacking play.
“Just as importantly, Emiliano has consistently performed in structured, possession-based teams throughout his career, and we’re excited to see the impact he’ll have within our environment.”

Marcondes said City was an opportunity he was excited to embrace.
“I’m really happy to be joining Melbourne City and excited for this new challenge in Australia,” Marcondes said.
“I’d heard a lot of positive things about the Club, the style of football the team wants to play and the ambition that exists here, and my first impressions since arriving have only reinforced that.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing in teams that want to control the ball and play positive football, so I’m excited to be here working with my new teammates and the coaching staff, and will do everything I can to help bring success to the Club.”
