Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John Aloisi has spoken of his pride in his side’s valiant display in the Melbourne Derby last night.

Heart went down 2-1 against city rival Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium, but it wasn’t without a spirited fight-back, which saw his side nearly snatch an equaliser after trailing 2-0 against an in-form Victory.

Heart had a back-line consisting of three players 20 years and under.

“Including Redders [goalkepper Andrew Redmayne], our back five has probably 20 A-League games between them and come up against the best wingers in the league by far,” Aloisi said.

“Add Flores in that and I think we did extremely well considering the players we have lost, considering what happened this week.

“I couldn-t be more proud of the boys.”
