Melbourne Heart FC’s National Youth League side will search for its second win of the season against Brisbane Roar from 3pm today.

Melbourne Heart FC’s NYL team will look to bounce back from a 2-1 loss against Central Coast Mariners last week and record its second win of the season when it welcomes Brisbane Roar to John Cain Memorial Park from 3pm today.

Heart fought gallantly with 10 men against the Mariners last week, only to succumb to two first-half strikes from the Mariners after snatching an early lead.

Heart will be without marksman Stefan Mauk after he was controversially dismissed last week, receiving his marching orders after picking up a second yellow for simulation.

Heart’s NYL coach Joe Palatsides expects a tough hit-out against Roar today.

“There’s never an easy game,” Palatasdes said.

“I’ve been really, really pleased with the way the boys have gone about our commitment to what we want to achieve.

“We started off pretty well in Sydney [with a 2-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers] and I think we played better the week later.

“But we didn’t get the result we wanted against Central Coast Mariners even though it was probably unfair on the boys that we did lose that game.I think we deserved at least a point.”

Palatsides praised Sam Mitchinson who made his senior debut against the Wanderers last night.

Heart will aim for its first win on home soil in the 2012/13 NYL season and its second of the campaign.
