Head Coach John van ‘t Schip is excited by the attacking firepower he has compiled over the Hyundai A-League off-season.

Following the retirement of John Aloisi, the Red and White has been in search of goals over the past few months, and its search has appeared to bear fruit in the form of numerous attacking recruits.

Fresh from an AFC Champions League campaign with Sydney FC, rising star David Williams appears poised for a breakout Hyundai A-League campaign, after consolidating his reputation as a man for the future while at North Queensland.

Former Dinamo Zagreb winger Mate Dugandzic meanwhile has blended seamlessly into the squad at Heart HQ, appearing perfectly suited to van ‘t Schip-s 4-3-3 system.

And in Brazilian recruit Maycon, the Club appears to have an x-factor capable of making a contribution, while boosting the competition for spots in the front third.

Having scouted Maycon while in Brazil last year, van ‘t Schip has kept regular tabs on the 24-year-old and is hopeful the former Nova Iguacu striker can provide another dimension to the Club-s attack.

Van ‘t Schip said: “I think we have a lot of mobility with David Williams, Mate Dugandzic, Rutger Worm and also with Alex Terra and Maycon, Eli and Jason.

“These players are very mobile and move very easy with their running. Hopefully within that we can create something good within that.”

Van ‘t Schip has also earmarked Fred, as a central component of Heart-s bid to make a debut finals appearance, with the former Philadelphia Union midfielder renowned for his energy and creativity.

“Of course with Fred coming in is a big thing for us. He-s a player who-s already played here,” van ‘t Schip said.

“We lost a lot of experience and we-re bringing Fred back and we hope we at least have a player who can help all the other players in a different kind of way too.”
