General Manager, Football Operations John Didulica said the Club opted against risking the Brazilian attacker as a precautionary measure given the length of the season ahead.
“We were keen for Alex to play but we felt it was in his long term interest to allow him to rest and train with the High Performance team to ensure he is ready to go for the remainder of the season,” he said.
