Melbourne City announce three additions to the squad for 2018-19 – new signing Lachlan Wales, re-signing Osama Malik, and returning player on loan, Anthony Caceres.

Attacking mid-fielder Caceres joins City on loan from Manchester City, for what will be his second stint after a year with Al-Wasl in the UAE Pro League. During his previous two seasons with Melbourne City he made 42 appearances, including in the 2016 FFA Cup winning squad, scoring four goals in all competitions.

Malik, a versatile mid-fielder/defender, signs for a third season with Melbourne City, having joined in January 2016. He featured in the 2016 FFA Cup winning squad and has made a total of 58 appearances in all competitions.

20-year-old Lachlan Wales joins from Central Coast Mariners. The young attacking midfielder made 11 appearances for the first team.

Michael Petrillo, Director of Football, said:

“We are entirely focused on building the best possible team to help us achieve our ambitions this season. Anthony is a talented, committed player who trains as he plays and will fit back in to the team with ease, and Osama has been a versatile and consistent contributor over the last two seasons and provides different options to the team. Lachlan is a strong young talent with significant potential. We look forward to getting the full squad in training and ready for next season.”
