Melbourne City duo Daniela Galic and Naomi Chinnama have been named in the Young Matildas squad for the upcoming November-December international window.
Galic, Chinnama and the Young Matildas will take on China in a two-match series as they ramp up their preparations for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024.
The two matches against fellow Asian Cup qualifiers, China, will take place on Sunday 3 December and Wednesday 6 December at the Auxiliary Field of Xiamen Egret Stadium.
The squad announcement comes just days after 17-year-old Galic netted her first goal of the season in City’s 3-2 win over Newcastle.
A wonderful volley saw the attacking midfielder open the scoring, before she played a perfectly weighted cross to set up Holly McNamara’s equaliser.
Chinnama was used as a second-half substitute against the Jets, playing an important role at the back as City produced an impressive late comeback to take all three points.
Galic and Chinnama will depart for China following City’s away clash with Sydney FC on Sunday 26 November.
