Melbourne City will play the final leg of its three-match international away trip on Sunday afternoon, returning to Australia via Newcastle to face the Jets.
It’s a trip that has taken us to Auckland and Tokyo so far with a disappointing 1-0 defeat in the A-League Men’s preceding a six-goal thriller in the AFC Champions League.
City led twice against Ventforet Kofu against a hostile home crowd, but a late equaliser would mean the hosts earnt a share of the points – setting up a thrilling final Matchday.
Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar has now named his squad to face Newcastle this weekend and there aren’t any surprises with the 20 players included as midweek after the team made it through the trip unscathed.
Mathew Leckie is set to make his A-League Men’s return after entering the pitch for the final 20 minutes against Kofu, while Curtis Good is set to become the Club’s outright appearance leader after equalling Scott Jamieson (161) on Wednesday night.
