Melbourne City FC Coaching Update

Ahead of this weekend’s Unite Round fixtures in Sydney, the Club would like to announce the following movements in our coaching ranks.

A-League Men’s Goalkeeper Coach, Mike van Houten, this week departed the Club to return to the Netherlands for family reasons.

Sander Krabbendam has been appointed as his replacement and began working with our goalkeepers and the coaching staff last week.

Krabbendam joins City from AFC Ajax in the Netherlands where he has been involved in the Academy set-up since 2019.

His coaching career has also seen him spend time working with the first team at Club Brugge in Belgium and Almere City FC in the Netherlands.

A-League Women’s Goalkeeper Coach, Jordan Franken, also this week departed the Club as he takes up an opportunity abroad.

Academy Goalkeeper Coach, Ben Morella, will replace him for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Also joining Dario Vidosic’s coaching staff for the remainder of the campaign is Peter Kofinas in the role of Assistant Coach.

Kofinas joined City as an Academy Coach in November, making the move from Western Sydney Wanderers where he had previously served as both an Academy Head Coach and ALW Assistant Coach.

We’d like to thank both Mike and Jordan for all of their time at the Club and wish them well in their future endeavours.
