Team News: City confirm squad for Sydney away

Off the back of a hotly contested Melbourne Derby, our City boys will be on the road this weekend to face Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.

For the second time this season the Derby ended in a scoreless draw, the points once again shared although both sides had their chances.

Aurelio Vidmar’s side have now turned their attention to Sydney FC as we gear up to face the Sky Blues on Saturday evening.

Mathew Leckie and Marco Tilio were both in the starting XI on Saturday as we near full strength, with several players returning from injury and signings coming in.

One of these is Chilean defender Vicente Fernandez, who made his City debut off the bench and saw about an hour of action.

This came following the substitution of Scott Galloway, who is set to miss the next few weeks due to a calf injury.

Young guns Alessandro Lopane, Harry Politidis and Ben Mazzeo have both been promoted to the extended squad ahead of the trip to Sydney.
