Melbourne City trio Daniela Galic, Tijan McKenna, Naomi Chinnama and the Young Matildas have booked their spot at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024™.
The Young Matildas secured their place at the U20 World Cup after finishing top of Group A at the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024™.
Australia sealed qualification with a 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei in their final Group Stage fixture – making it nine points from a possible nine to begin the tournament.
City star, Daniela Galic, was once again instrumental for the Young Matildas, playing a delightful ball to Jessika Nash for the opener. Goals to Zara Kruger and Claudia Cicco secured the win.
The Young Matildas now prepare for a blockbuster Semi-Final, as they take on reigning champions, Japan.
