Team News: Vidosic confirms derby squad

Melbourne City will be looking to carry the momentum from last week’s A-League Women’s win over Brisbane into a huge Melbourne Derby this weekend.

The three points couldn’t have come at a better time after a disappointing run of form previously.

That win now sees us right back in the mix for the Premier’s Plate and an all-important top-two finish with just three games of the regular season remaining.

Set to play both of our next two games in Melbourne, it provides a great opportunity to build a platform to head into the final matchday of the season with all to play for.

While we won’t be at home for the Derby, we will be in some familiar surroundings at the Home of the Matildas in Bundoora – previously our old training base.

Head Coach Dario Vidosic has locked in his squad for the weekend and there’s one big inclusion that City fans will be stoked to see.

After having been sidelined due to a calf injury for almost two months, Julia Grosso has been cleared to return and will be part of our squad to take on Victory.

Youngsters Caitlin Karic and Sophia Varley have also been promoted to the extended squad ahead of Sunday.
