Finals fever is heating up at the City Football Academy with both squads currently in the final stages of preparation ahead of a huge weekend of football.
Two action-packed days of Finals football kick off at AAMI Park on Saturday evening when our City Women play their first Grand Final in four years.
We’ll be coming up against the reigning Champions in Sydney FC as we look to complete the double for the third time in Club history.

Sunday will then see just the second A-League Men’s Melbourne Derby final in the competition’s history as we face off against Melbourne Victory in a do-or-die Elimination Final.
City will be full of momentum coming into the contest off the back of three consecutive wins, but we will have to be at our best if we’re to secure a first win over Victory this season and progress to the two-legged Semi Final.

Both Head Coaches have confirmed their squads ahead of the team’s respective final runs on the training pitch.
Unfortunately both Karly Roestbakken (ankle) and Shelby McMahon (shin) have been ruled out of the A-League Women’s Grand Final.
Despite the best efforts of her and the Club medical staff, Roestbakken wasn’t able to recover after going down with injury during the Semi Final first leg, while a contact injury against Newcastle sees McMahon join her on the sidelines.
A trio of young guns have been promoted and will be pressing their claims to feature in the matchday squad come Saturday’s Championship decider.
Looking ahead to Sunday, Aurelio Vidmar is set to stick with a similar line-up for what’s shaping up to be the hottest Melbourne Derby in recent memory.
Scott Galloway and Harry Politidis have both been added to the extended squad, the former looking to make his return from injury after missing a large period of football.
