A-League Women All Stars: Three City stars named in squad to take on Arsenal

Melbourne City stars Hannah Wilkinson, Rebekah Stott and Rhianna Pollicina have been named in the A-League Women All Stars squad to take on English heavyweights, Arsenal.

The inaugural A-League Women’s All Stars squad will be coached by former Premiership-Championship winning City coach, Joe Montemurro.

Montemurro named his 19-player squad on Thursday ahead of the All Stars clash with the Women’s Super League giants at Marvel Stadium on Friday 24 May as part of Global Football Week in Melbourne.

There will be familiar faces on both sides for City fans, with Wilkinson, Stott and Pollicina taking on former City captain, Steph Catley.

A-League All Stars Women Head Coach, Joe Montemurro, said: “The quality across the Liberty A-League Women is undeniable. The league has been a proven pathway for Matildas for many years, and more and more we’re seeing current Matildas and other internationals feature across the league.

“Within this squad we will have 11 internationals and it’s a squad that has a great mix of experience, quality and flair that I think will excite the fans, show the best of the league and most of all give Arsenal Women FC a real challenge.”

The A-League Women’s All Stars clash will be a doubleheader with the Men’s All Stars, with their squad yet to be announced.
