Your City boys are in action on Saturday night for their first competitive match of the new campaign, travelling to Perth to face the Glory in the Australia Cup Round of 32.
As we get set for the return of City football, what better time to check in and see who’s wearing which number this season!
Who’s changed?
There’s no shortage of changes this season, with four City young guns opting for a lower number in 2024/25.
Max Caputo makes the move from 37 to his childhood number of 17, while fellow young striker Arion Sulemani has shifted from 34 to 20.
Zane Schreiber will now be seen in 19, while Callum Talbot has taken up number 2 after the departure of Scott Galloway who had worn that shirt since 2018.
What will our new signings wear?
Our defence has received some reinforcement ahead of the new campaign, with both Kai Trewin and Germán Ferreyra welcomed to the Club this pre-season.
As he was in Brisbane, Trewin will continue to be seen with 27 on his back, while Ferreyra takes up the 22 last worn by all-time Club appearance leader, Curtis Good.
What numbers have our Academy graduates selected?
City’s Academy has continued to produce, with no less than five players signing their first senior contracts.
All five have now locked in their shirt numbers ahead of their inaugural season with the first team.
Jayden Necovski (34), Medin Memeti (35), Harry Shillington (36) and Peter Antoniou (37) all have chosen numbers in the 30’s, while Lawrence Wong (41) will sit behind only Ben Mazzeo (46) for the highest squad number this season.
