Graham Arnold has today named his Socceroos squad for next month’s international window, with City Captain and national team mainstay, Aziz Behich, included once again.
Behich will have the chance to add to his 70 international caps when the Socceroos face Bahrain on the Gold Coast on September 5, before travelling to Jakarta for a fixture against Indonesia a few days later.
The September window marks the start of the third phase of qualifying after the Socceroos went through the second stage not conceding a single goal to top the Group A table.
Most recently Behich pulled on the green and gold in June’s international window, coming on late against Bangladesh before playing the full 90 minutes and winning a penalty against Palestine.
He’s joined in selection to the 24-man squad by a couple of familiar faces to City fans, former midfield stars, Aiden O’Neill and Connor Metcalfe.
Next Thursday’s fixtures will be shown live on Network 10 and streamed via 10play and Paramount+, while the away clash against Indonesia will be exclusive to Paramount+.
