Just a week after being nominated for the AFC Youth Player of the Year Award, Daniela Galic has been called up for her first Matildas squad.
The former City young gun has been named in the 23-player squad to take on Switzerland and Germany at the upcoming FIFA Women’s international window.
The Premiership-winning star joins former City teammate, Kaitlyn Torpey, in the squad, with Galic’s selection coming after a standout 2023/24 campaign with City.
Last season, the then 17-year-old was crowned the 2023/24 A-League Women’s Young Footballer of the Year Award and recognised with City’s Rising Star Award.
Galic’s breakout season saw her earn a move to Europe, where she joined Dutch Champions, FC Twente.
Former City stars Steph Catley (Captain) and Ellie Carpenter (Vice Captain) will lead the team under interim boss Tom Sermmani.
