After a disappointing defeat last time out, Melbourne City will have sights set on getting back to winning ways on Monday night.
A Melbourne Cup eve clash against cross-town rivals Western United awaits as Aurelio Vidmar’s side looks to make it two wins from three games to start the season.
Although it will be an away game, we’ll be back in familiar surroundings at AAMI Park.
Following a slightly longer turnaround than usual, Vidmar has now named his extended squad with some mixed news coming among the ins and outs.
After getting close last week, Mathew Leckie now looks set to return with another big week on the track under his belt.
Arion Sulemani and Peter Antoniou will both be sidelined for the short term though, picking up niggling calf and foot injuries respectively. Aziz Behich will also miss after receiving a two-match suspension following an incident in the first half of the Melbourne Derby.
Medin Memeti comes into the extended squad in place of Sulemani – who has appeared off the bench in both games this season – while Lawrence Wong and Ben Mazzeo have also been included.
