Melbourne City is gearing up for a pair of away games this weekend, with both the Men’s and Women’s teams aiming to bank back-to-back wins.
Our City Women kicked off their season in style, rallying from behind to secure a 5-2 victory over Perth Glory.
The following day, the Men’s squad followed suit, with Andrew Nabbout’s second-half goal clinching a valuable three points.
Now, both teams face intriguing match-ups: the Women will take on Victory in the first Melbourne Derby of the season, while the Men head to Perth for their final game before the international break.
Head Coaches Michael Matricciani and Aurelio Vidmar have now confirmed their squads ahead of these weekend clashes.
For the Women’s team, Emilia Murray joins the squad after missing Round 1 and looks ready to make her first City appearance on home soil.
Caitlin Karic is also included, while Captain Rebekah Stott (hamstring) and rising star Shelby McMahon (quad) will miss the game but are expected to be back in the selection mix next weekend.
On the Men’s side, Jimmy Jeggo is set to return from suspension on Sunday and is joined in the extended squad by James Nieuwenhuizen, Lawrence Wong, and Ben Mazzeo.
As confirmed earlier in the week, Andrew Nabbout and Marco Tilio have unfortunately both been ruled out for extended periods through injury.
