Leah Davidson and Rhianna Pollicina have etched their names into the Club’s history books, surpassing former Captain Steph Catley to move into second place on City’s all-time Women’s appearances list.
With 63 appearances each, the midfield duo moved one game ahead of Catley on City’s all-time list following City’s vital come-from-behind Melbourne Derby win on Saturday.
This achievement highlights the consistency and quality of both players, who have been instrumental in City’s midfield for multiple seasons.
Currently, only Captain Rebekah Stott sits ahead of Davidson and Pollicina, with 100 appearances for the Club.
A MIDFIELD MAINSTAY
Since joining City ahead of the 2021/22 A-League Women’s season, Pollicina has made her mark as one of the competition’s most lethal attacking midfielders.
Rarely missing a game since her debut season in City colours, Pollicina’s technical ability, vision and goal scoring prowess have made her a key part of the team’s success.
With 27 goals in 63 appearances for the Club, Pollicina has netted the equal most goals for City’s Women’s team.
DAZZLING DAVEO
After making the move to Melbourne ahead of the 2020/21 A-League Women’s season, much like Pollicina, Davidson quickly cemented herself as a regular in the starting XI.
A hard-working and relentless defensive midfielder, Davidson quickly established herself as one of the team’s most consistent and reliable footballers. She didn’t miss a match in her first two seasons with the Club, before succumbing to a season-ending ankle injury in 2022/23.
Davidson returned to her best last season and was crucial in City securing the 2023/24 Premiers Plate.
