KUEN: I really enjoy being at this amazing club

Melbourne City midfielder Andreas Kuen is moving from strength to strength as the season progresses.

The Austrian midfielder is loving life at City as he continues to build strong relationships with his teammates.

Kuen will be looking to continue building on his strong run of form when City host Auckland FC for the first time on Sunday afternoon at AAMI Park.

Read his pre-match thoughts below…

BUILDING FORM IN NEW COLOURS

“I had some problems in the pre-season with some small injuries… now the last weeks I’m getting better and week-by-week I feel better.

“I think last game I did really well, I hope I can continue in the next weeks the same way. For me, I’m not quite feeling 100% because I’ve had some chest problems and was a little bit sick in the last few weeks so I hope I can feel really good now into the next game and help the team in the same way as the last game.”

MOVING TO MELBOURNE

“I think it was a good option to come here… in the summer I was a free agent and for me, I wanted to see something new, I didn’t want to go home to Austria so the option to come here to Australia, to this amazing club here at Melbourne City was a good option. I really enjoy being here at this club.

“I was coming here to be an important player for this team, so yeah I hope I can help the team in anyway, whether that’s assists or goals, I try to help the team.

“In the end the most important thing for me is that the team is successful and when the team is successful I think all the players are doing really good and I hope I can be a good player in this league, yes.”

FACING THE LADDER LEADERS

“We played them in pre-season one time, a long time ago, so we know them a little bit. They’ve had an impressive run, hopefully we can end it on Sunday and get a win at home.”

HIGH PRAISE

“Kai [Trewin] is a really nice guy, I have a good relationship with him and I really like to play with him. He’s a good defender, I like his playing style, and it suits me really well.

“If he keeps going like this I think he can be a really, really good player for Melbourne City and maybe also for the national team.”
