Melbourne City is very much looking forward to Saturday night’s Christmas Derby according to star defender, Kai Trewin.
The in-form defender has been one of City’s best this season, playing every minute of his first campaign in City colours.

DERBY, READY
“[The mood] has been good. After last week as well, there’s a bit of confidence from that game but you know, it’s a big game and it means a lot to all the players and the staff, not only the coaching staff but all the staff at the club so yeah there’s a good energy around the club and we’re very excited.
BOUNCING BACK
“[This season’s first Melbourne Derby] definitely has been touched on, there were some issues in that game that we were quick to rectify after that.
“Just different things we can learn from that game and hopefully take it into this week and make a few changes so we can hopefully win the game.”
LIFE IN CITY BLUE
“I’m loving it, I’m loving the new city, I’m loving my new teammates as well.
“The coaching staff have been really good and just the Club in general I’m loving – the experiences I’m sort of having now, even playing at AAMI Park most weeks, is really good and a great atmosphere every week as well.”
EYING A SOCCEROOS CALL-UP
“It’s my biggest dream in football since I was a little boy to play for the Socceroos one day, I don’t know how close the call is really but I’m just trying to stay as consistent as I can, play every game that I can as consistent as I can and you never know what might sort of happen.
“I’m just focusing on Melbourne City at the moment and if anything come from it, I’ll be very excited.”
