Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel has proposed a two-match suspension for Melbourne City Captain, Aziz Behich.
Although not sanctioned during the match, Behich was yesterday cited for an incident in first-half stoppage time of Saturday night’s Melbourne Derby.
After reviewing the evidence, including a statement from Behich, the independent Match Review Panel has determined he committed the offence of ‘assault on a player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball.’
City has until 2:00pm tomorrow to confirm if it will accept the sanction or refer it to the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.
UPDATE: The Club has accepted this suspension.
