Injury Update: Yonatan Cohen to miss extended period

Yonatan Cohen has been ruled out for at least the next two months after scans on Thursday confirmed a high-grade MCL sprain.

Cohen, who assisted City’s opening goal in the New Year’s Eve clash against Central Coast, sustained the injury late in the first half and was forced off the pitch shortly after.

On a more positive note, City is set to welcome back key attacking reinforcements by the end of January.

Mathew Leckie has begun re-integrating into team training over the past week and is aiming to return following the demanding stretch of fixtures to start the year.

Max Caputo and Marco Tilio, who both suffered unfortunate setbacks in December, are progressing well in their recoveries and are expected to be available late in January.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Lopane continues to make steady progress in his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury. Currently focused on building his conditioning, Lopane remains on track to return in the second half of the season.
