Arguably the biggest fixture of the Ninja A-League season to date is ahead this weekend as we gear up for a top-of-the-table Melbourne Derby.
Still holding our undefeated record and sitting on top of the table, we’re set to host a red-hot Melbourne Victory at the ctrl:cyber Pitch this Saturday.

Here are all of the key storylines heading into what’s shaping up to be a blockbuster Derby:
A TOP OF THE TABLE BATTLE
This Melbourne Derby has an extra edge with first place on the line. We remain unbeaten and on top of the table with 29 points, but Victory is breathing down our necks just two points behind.
A win for our crosstown rivals would see them claim top spot, but three points for City would create some valuable breathing room as we approach the business end of the season.
Victory has surged up the table thanks to three consecutive wins, while City continued our unbeaten run last week with a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Western Sydney.
Holly McNamara marked her first start of the season in style, scoring the game’s only goal in the 14th minute after a clever assist from Mariana Speckmaier.
This will be the second meeting between the two sides this season, following an action-packed 3-2 win for City back in December.
On that day, Speckmaier starred with a brace, including the 85th-minute winner, while Lourdes Bosch also found the back of the net.
DEFENDING OUR FORTRESS
While City’s unbeaten start to the season has been impressive, so too has our form at ctrl:cyber Pitch, where we remain undefeated across the past two seasons.
In eight matches at our new home, we have won five and drawn three, turning it into one of the toughest places to visit in the league.
Saturday’s clash will be the first time we’ve hosted a Melbourne Derby at this venue, adding even more significance to what is already one of the biggest games of the season.
A FUN DAY OUT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Beyond the action on the pitch, plenty is happening around the ground to make this an unmissable matchday experience.
The gates open at 4:00 PM, but fans are encouraged to arrive early to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy a range of family-friendly activities, including giveaways, entertainment, and more.
We’ll also be celebrating our partnership with the City of Casey, which means there will be a range of extra activities on the day.
