Melbourne City’s Powerchair Football team are back on the national stage, competing at the National Club Championships in Brisbane this week.
The tournament structure will see City participate in a 10 match Group Stage, followed by two Semi Finals, and a Grand Final.
City will kick-off their campaign on Friday 14 March, taking on Auckland FC at 12:00pm, before facing Lions FC at 4:00pm.

In 2015, City became the first Melbourne-based A-League team to form a Powerchair team. Since then, the team has moved from strength to strength, continuing to inspire others to join the sport along the journey.
Ahead of last year’s tournament, Powerchair Captain, Luke David said: “We’ve been very fortunate to have the support of Melbourne City and it’s been growing every year since we started back in 2015.”
A life-long fan of the Club, the City Powerchair Captain opened up on what it means to wear the jersey.
“It means the world to me [to represent Melbourne City in Powerchair Football],” he said.
“I’ve always lived with a disability, and I never thought I would be able to play sport to begin with, but to be able to represent a Club that I love so much is just a dream come true.
“I’m very proud and lucky to have this opportunity and I make sure that every time I go on the court, I play for the badge and put all my effort in.”
We’d like to wish our team the best of the luck for the upcoming tournament.
