CALLED UP: Apostolakis and McMahon to join Young Matildas squad

Melbourne City young guns Alexia Apostolakis and Shelby McMahon have been named in the Young Matildas squad for the March/April FIFA Women’s International Window.

The talented duo will join the squad for a Sydney-based training camp as Australia continues its preparations for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers.

Apostolakis and McMahon will depart City following the team’s road trip to Brisbane and Wellington, where they will spend nine days with the Young Matildas under newly appointed Head Coach Alex Epakis, before returning to Melbourne ahead of the side’s clash with the Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park.

Both Apostolakis and McMahon featured in City’s historic AFC Women’s Champions League Quarter Final win and their respective selections come after strong performances for City’s unbeaten team.
