The busy schedule continues for Michael Matricciani’s Women’s team, who stayed on the road and traveled to New Zealand for Sunday’s fixture after their midweek win in Brisbane.
There are plenty of changes to Vidmar’s squad following the extended break. As announced earlier today, Mathew Leckie (calf) and James Nieuwenhuizen (knee) are both out.
Steven Ugarkovic also won’t make the trip to take on Sydney FC, serving a one-game suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in our most recent fixture against Newcastle Jets.
Yonatan Cohen (calf) and Germán Ferreyra (concussion) come straight back into the squad after recovering from short-term injuries.
The midfield absences provide an opportunity for Ale Lopane to make his first appearance of the season, with the 20-year-old included alongside fellow young guns Ben Mazzeo and Lachie Charles.
Our traveling Women’s contingent remains unchanged, with Emilia Murray and Caitlin Karic added back to the extended squad for the second fixture of our two-game road trip.
