We’ve locked in a 23-player travelling squad for our upcoming AFC Women’s Champions League Semi-Final against Incheon Red Angels.
The team will depart for Wuhan, China on Saturday as preparations ramp up for next Wednesday’s historic clash, with a place in the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League Final on the line.
City will take on Korean champions Hyundai Steel Red Angels on Wednesday 22 May in the first of two Semi-Finals, with hosts Wuhan Jiangda and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City set to face off in the other.
A win would see Michael Matricciani’s side remain in China for the Final just days later, as the team looks to cap off a strong 2024/25 campaign with continental silverware.
While a heartbreaking extra-time defeat in the A-League Women’s Semi-Final saw our domestic season come to an abrupt end, City has now had extra time to recover and fully focus on the upcoming AWCL challenge.
Matricciani has named a full-strength squad for the trip, with all players available for selection.
Holly McNamara has been named in the travelling group after recovering well from a heavy collision in the first half of our recent clash with Central Coast Mariners. The star forward is pushing to be available for Wednesday’s Semi-Final and will continue to be assessed by City’s medical staff following arrival in China.

Lourdes Bosch is also eligible to feature, with her domestic suspension not carrying over into continental competition. She will instead serve her two-match ban at the beginning of the 2025/26 A-League Women’s season.
