Rhianna Pollicina departs Melbourne City

After four memorable seasons at Melbourne City FC, Rhianna Pollicina will depart the Club following the conclusion of her contract.

Pollicina first joined City ahead of the 2021/22 A-League Women’s season, quickly establishing herself as one of the league’s most dangerous attacking midfielders.

During her time at the Club, the 28-year-old made 85 appearances and scored 29 goals – the second-most in Melbourne City Women’s history. She was also the recipient of the Club’s Golden Boot in 2023 and earned selection in the PFA Team of the Season on three occasions.

A key figure in the team’s recent success, Pollicina played an important role in securing back-to-back Premiers Plate titles.

She also etched her name into Club history earlier this season, scoring City’s first-ever goal in the AFC Women’s Champions League during the team’s historic debut campaign.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:

“Rhianna has been an exceptional player for us over the past four seasons. Her impact on the pitch speaks for itself, and she’s been an integral part of our recent success.

“We would like to thank her for her contributions and wish her every success in the next stage of her career.”

Reflecting on her time at City, Rhianna Pollicina said:

“It’s been an honour to wear the City blue and I feel extremely privileged to have been a part of such a successful Club.

“I had the pleasure of sharing the pitch with some incredible teammates, and I have so many fond memories from each season that I will never forget.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to all the fans who made my time at City so enjoyable. You will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Everyone at Melbourne City FC would like to thank Rhianna for her outstanding service and lasting contributions to the Club, and we wish her every success for the future.
