Two A-League Women’s Premiers depart City

Melbourne City FC can confirm the departure of two A-League Women’s Premiers following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Sophia Varley and Kathryn Harvey will both leave the Club after reaching the end of their respective contracts.

Varley has been part of City’s squad in four of the past five seasons, having initially joined as an injury replacement in March 2021.

While the 21-year-old goalkeeper made just one senior appearance, she remained a valuable and important member of the squad.

Harvey departs after making 15 appearances and scoring three goals since signing with City on the eve of the season. The Canadian striker made an immediate impression, netting a brace on debut to help inspire a 5-2 come-from-behind win over Perth Glory in Round 1.

Melbourne City thanks both Sophia and Kathryn for their professionalism, dedication and contributions to the Club and wishes them all the best in the next chapter of their careers.
