Melbourne City FC is pleased to confirm that Championship-winning goalkeeper Patrick Beach has signed a new long-term contract with the Club.
Already contracted for the upcoming season, the 21-year-old has now committed to City until the end of the 2027/28 campaign.
Beach enjoyed a breakout 2024/25 season, making his professional debut in Round 1 with a clean sheet in a 1-0 away win over Newcastle Jets.
From that moment on, he didn’t miss a single minute, playing every match of the campaign and finishing with a league-best 12 clean sheets, tied for the highest in the competition.

His composure and shot-stopping ability were on display throughout the year, but never more than when under pressure in the Grand Final, where he delivered another clean sheet on the biggest stage to help secure City’s second A-League Men’s Championship.

His impressive debut campaign also earned national recognition, with Beach invited into the Socceroos training camp in May as a train-on player – a valuable opportunity to continue his development at the international level.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:
“Patrick has shown tremendous professionalism and maturity since joining the Club, and we’re delighted to have secured him for the next three seasons.
“He had to be patient for his opportunity, but he kept learning, training hard, and was ready when his moment came. To play every game in a Championship-winning season is a credit to his character and ability.
“We’re confident he’ll only continue to grow and take his game to another level in the years ahead.”
Patrick Beach said:
“I’ve learnt so much over the past two seasons at Melbourne City both on and off the pitch, and I really believe there’s no better environment in Australia to keep developing as a player.
“Winning the Championship last season was a moment I’ll never forget, and now I’m hungrier than ever to keep pushing, chase more success, and test myself at the next level in the AFC Champions League.”
