The wait is over. City fans, you can now mark your calendars and lock in the dates as our AFC Champions League Elite campaign draws closer.
Following Friday’s League Stage draw in Kuala Lumpur, we now know when and where Aurelio Vidmar’s squad will face Asia’s elite as we look to progress to the Round of 16 for the first time in Club history.
Our League Stage campaign will kick off on Tuesday 16 September at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium against Buriram United, setting the tone for an exciting run of fixtures against some of the continent’s biggest clubs.

We’ll play four matches at home – facing Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Buriram United, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC, and Gangwon FC – and four away, travelling to face Vissel Kobe, FC Machida Zelvia, FC Seoul and Ulsan HD.
The draw also set up a couple of intriguing reunions for City fans, with former star defender Curtis Good (Buriram United) and Tolgay Arslan (Sanfrecce Hiroshima) set to return to Melbourne during the campaign.
Our eight fixtures will be played between mid-September and mid-February, with the top eight teams in the East Region League Stage progressing to the Round of 16.
Stay tuned for ticketing and broadcast information, which will be confirmed in due course. Please note, kick-off times are subject to change.
