Melbourne City duo Leticia McKenna and Emilia Makris (formerly Murray) lifted the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship MSIG Serenity Cup™ trophy after a successful tournament with Australia U23s.
Australia were crowned champions following a 1-0 win over Myanmar in the Final on Tuesday evening.
After falling to Myanmar in the opening match of the Group Stage, Australia bounced back strongly, defeating Timor-Leste, the Philippines and tournament hosts Vietnam before sealing the title in Haiphong.
McKenna played a key role in guiding Australia to the decider, featuring prominently throughout the group stage and Semi-Final. She produced a standout performance in the Semi against the hosts, registering a goal and assist against Vietnam to help secure Australia’s spot in the Final, before missing the tournament decider through injury.
Makris also featured during the campaign, netting a goal of her own as Australia scored 14 goals, kept three clean sheets and conceded just three times on their way to the title.
Both McKenna and Makris will now return to Australia, before commencing pre-season with City in the coming weeks.
