ALW SQUAD UPDATE: City farewells four Premiership winners

Melbourne City FC can confirm that Tyla-Jay Vlajnic, Isabella Accardo, Emilia Makris and Kiera Meyers have departed the Club ahead of the new season.

Returning to City in September 2024 after two years away, Vlajnic made 27 appearances last season and brought up her 100th A-League Women’s appearance in the process.

A key contributor in the Club’s Premiers Plate triumph – her fifth piece of silverware in City colours – she departs with 82 Club appearances to her name, the fifth-highest tally in City Women’s history.

Accardo spent four seasons with the Club, totalling 13 appearances, and was a member of City’s back-to-back Premiership-winning squads.

Makris departs the Club by mutual termination after having made nine appearances last season.

Meyers originally joined from Southern United in February 2023 and went on to feature 14 times in City colours, including three starts.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:

“TJ was a key member of our squad last season, and her experience was vital over the course of both our domestic and Asian campaigns. Her versatility to play multiple roles was crucial, and it was great to see her lift another piece of silverware at Melbourne City.

“Isabella, Kiera and Emilia have given everything over their time with the Club and have been highly valued members of the locker room.

“We wish all four players all the best as they move into a new stage of their careers.”

Everyone at Melbourne City thanks Tyla-Jay, Isabella, Kiera and Emilia for their contributions and commitment to the Club.
