Melbourne City FC now know their path to the knockout stages of the AFC Women’s Champions League, with fixture details now confirmed for their Group Stage in Vietnam.
City legend Melissa Barbieri was on hand to assist with the official draw at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month, which placed the 2023/24 runners-up into Group A alongside Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC of Vietnam, Stallion Laguna FC of the Philippines, and Lion City Sailors FC of Singapore.
All three of City’s group stage fixtures will be contested at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, with Michael Matricciani’s side set for a busy run of matches across both domestic and continental competition.

A JAMPACKED NOVEMBER
City will open their Group Stage account when they take on Lion City Sailors on Thursday 13 November, before facing Stallion Laguna FC on Sunday 16 November and finishing with hosts Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC on Wednesday 19 November.
Before their trip to Vietnam, City will begin the 2025/26 Ninja A-League Women’s season with a blockbuster away clash against Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 1 November.
The team will then host their first home game of the season at ctrl:cyber Pitch on Sunday 9 November, when they face Central Coast Mariners.
Matricciani’s squad will then fly out for their AFC Women’s Champions League campaign, returning just days before lining up against Adelaide United in Round 4 of the A-League Women’s season at ctrl:cyber Pitch on Sunday 23 November.
With a packed calendar and ambitions to go one better than last year’s runners-up finish, City will be determined to make a strong start in both competitions as they also eye a third straight Premiers Plate.
