Australian Professional Leagues (A-Leagues) has confirmed that tomorrow night’s Ninja A-League home match against Adelaide United at ctrl:cyber Pitch has been postponed.
A number of Adelaide United players have been impacted by an Influenza A outbreak, leaving the club unable to field a team safely.
Following advice from the APL Chief Medical Officer, in consultation with Club Doctors, it was determined that proceeding with the fixture would pose a risk of illness spreading to players and staff from both clubs, as well as match officials. The decision was therefore taken to postpone the match in the interests of player welfare and the health of the broader football community.
The fixture will be moved to a later date, which we’ll share as soon as it’s confirmed in the coming days.
If you’ve already purchased a ticket, it will remain valid for the rescheduled match. If you’re unable to make the new date once announced, you’ll also be able to request a full refund by contacting membership@melbournecityfc.com.au.
